Honeybee 0 #1 March 1, 2007 I see all these brands and I have no idea which one would be best for me. I would like something reliable, dependable, and that's easy to control. Can anyone offer me any pointers? I'm just over a hundred pounds, so also wondering what size to get. thx

You'll have a better idea about the gear you should buy after that. Be safe Ed edit to add: Maybe this should get moved to Gear and Rigging forum.www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
livnbored 0 #3 March 2, 2007 If i was to say what I really thinks rock, I would say a micron, but seeing as you're new to skydiving the best advice I can offer is buy used. You'll want something else in two years anyway, so save your money. But the reality is that you don't know what you want and your post doesn't say much. We need to know how many jumps you have, what you like about skydviing and what you want to do in the futue. If you tell us that we'll all be able to help you with your decision by offering explanations about gear. What you really want, however, is an easy answer and I'll guarantee you that most of us didn't know sqant when we bought our first rigs. Some of us were ripped off. Give us more info, tell us what you're looking at... your weight, height, discipline of choice... and we'll be only able to tell you our opinions. Gear is very personal. darkwing 5 #4 March 2, 2007 There are lots of good, reliable options out there for you. I echo the notion that buying used would be your best bet. Keep educating yourself, and save your money (but keep jumping while saving it--that's the hard part). 2shay 0 #5 March 2, 2007 USED do not buy new once again as everyone else has said. Containers: Vector 3, Mirage, Voodoo. Canopies: Spectre, triathlon, or relativley any other entry level canopy, no sabres though. Reserves: PD, Precision raven. AAD cyress why say this and only this is because they are proven from years and years of saves. I highly reccomend speaking with your rigger and instructor. Try to talk to them both at the same time. It is a lot easier to understand why and how about gear when you do it in person. Good luckdon't try your bullshit with me!!!
