StreetScooby 5 #3 November 17, 2006 Excellent movie. I read the book, and it adheres to it well. Too much emphasis on Drunken Ira Hayes, IMO, but still a very good movie. We are all engines of karma
JENNR8R 0 #4 November 17, 2006 It was okay. I read the book a few years before I went. I think it would be hard to know why events were happening in the order that they happened and who the people were. The book was a lot better. What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.

downwardspiral 0 #6 November 17, 2006 Thanks all! I'm going to see it this weekend. JENNR8R - Books are always better than their cinematic counterparts. For that reason I usually read the books after having seen the movies so that my love for reading doesn't ruin my enjoyment of the movie. CLOUDSPIRT- In the United States we call em movie theaters. So when one says theater, we Americans usually think movies first. So if you ever happen to cross the pond and ask one of us for directions to the nearest theater because you are posh and fancy a play....don't be surprised when the directions take you to a cinema. www.FourWheelerHB.com

There are scenes in the movie that will not make sense unless you read the book.We are all engines of karma

bozo 0 #9 November 18, 2006 QuoteYes by all means go see it....I had to...... my father was one of the survivors who made it off that hellhole. ------------------------------------------------------- My father was there also, Jeannie. He died in 1987. In the whole time I was growing up he never spoke a word about it. Only after I came home from my service did he even mention it...and then only once. It was a powerful movie and I am not ashamed to say it made me cry. bozo Pain is fleeting. Glory lasts forever. Chicks dig scars.
