moodyskydiver 0 #1 November 28, 2006 So some of you know I'm a big John Lennon fan.I'm just addicted to his music and think he was an awsome political activist,philosopher,poet,singer/song writer etc. Well my husband is a TX Correctional Officer who has worked for TDC for 16yrs now.Theres a craftshop on his unit that the inmates can work at making dang near anything...metal work,wood work,leather work and all sorts of stuff...pretty much you name it and it can be done there.They can also be commissioned by employees and some of the public to do private work and they do get paid for their work(via their commisary account since they arent allowed to have physical currency in the prison). Well, theres one inmate called Bahi who happens to be a DAMN fine oil painter.Hes done several portraits of Jimi Hendrix,Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison for a friend of ours.They look VERY life like and extremely professional. Soooo,my hubby comes home from work tonight with a big,flat box.He says its an early Xmas gift.I open it and OMG! Its a gorgeous oil painting by Bahi of my fav pic of John Lennon!!!****happy dance happy dance!!!***** My hubby rocks!!! attached: 1 the pic he took in 2 my painting "...just an earthbound misfit, I."
