NWFlyer 2 #1 November 28, 2006 There's a Yahoo IM virus going around today - my company has gotten slammed with it. It'll be a short message from someone on your contact list, with a link to a url (all the ones I've seen have been to http://csoft32 . net). Clicking on that URL is apparently what triggers the virus. Fortunately for me, the two people I got the messages from are people I am not currently working with, so getting a message from them made me suspicious. Here's a couple examples of the different messages that I've gotten today: (11/28/2006 10:02:09 AM): For iTunes hacker, the freedom of the open code ... http:// csoft32. net (11/28/2006 10:08:11 AM): Oh my GOD #... http:// csoft32. net (11/28/2006 11:02:16 AM): IBM agrees to pay $65M to settle overtime suit... http: //csoft32. net Edited to pander to the aggressively clueless. NWFlyer 2 #5 November 28, 2006 Quotewhat no clicky? I figured this would be one time when using the url tags would be a bad idea. PhreeZone 20 #6 November 28, 2006 Actually its smarter to edit it so that the links are broken by putting a space or wrong charactor in them or something just since we have some people that try to linky everything. normiss 898 #7 November 28, 2006 and yet, we still have people fall prey to phishing as well....interesting world at times...
