arai 0 #1 November 28, 2006 After about a full month of rain... really, I think it rained about everyday for a month, well except for the last 4 days where it switched to snow and dumped down 30 or 40cm, I'm just about ready to start my trip to Eloy (12 day holiday), I hope I'm not expected to be productive for the next day and a half. Anyone down there see a tall, athletic, blue eyed... err wait a sec, wrong ad. If you see a canadian guy walking around come say hi (you can tell us canadians apart by our polar bear hats and pale complextions this time of year) I'll do my best to throw around a few eh's and aboot's, but as I'm from western canada It might sound contrived and I'll probably even get the pronounciation wrong. Anything I have to check out when I'm down there?I'm getting in a bit of tunnel time and possibly a balloon jump. How easy is it to walk into town for some food or supplies? I'm staying in the bunkhouse (is the blanket they provide enough, or should I get a sleeping bag at a walmart or something?) and plan to get in as much jumping as possible. now to get back to my skydiving videos.... work, I mean work. Remster 30 #2 November 28, 2006 QuoteHow easy is it to walk into town for some food or supplies? -Anyone seen Dan? - No.. well, he left for town a few days ago... Some local probably kidnaped him. Oh well, he seemed nice. Its not that close, and, well, I wouldnt walk around Eloy after dark! We wont be around this weekend, but we will next weekend. If you are into 4 way, send an email to murel at divewerkz dot org. They are doingh their monthly mentor weekend in 10 days.Remster
sartre 0 #3 November 28, 2006 It gets downright cold at night. Bring a sleeping bag-just a light one even should be fine. If you don't have a vehicle, you're pretty limited as to where you can go off of the dropzone. The good news is the tunnel is just a short walk from the main dz.Have a great time; there are a ton of really neat people there.

arai 0 #7 November 28, 2006 thanks for the reply's. I'm going to be without a vehicle (I'm catching the shuttle from phoenix to eloy on thursday) so I'll have to rely on the kindness of strangers for the occasional ride into town for supplies. As for the kindness of the town locals after dark I guess I'll just stay around the dz. Are there bonfires? every dz has bonefire's dont they?
sartre 0 #8 November 29, 2006 There weren't any when I was there two weeks ago. But I also didn't really ask anyone about it.
QuickDraw 0 #9 November 29, 2006 There is a fire pit between the bunkhouse & laundry block (there is usually some pallet wood available too, just ask). There is usually someone going into town (Casa Grande has a Walmart) every day. Otherwise ask manifest to put a shout out for you. I'll be there myself in a little over a week, (Dec 7th). You might want to try Square 2 for a sleeping bag, as they sometimes have them in. I'm English, 5'11" with a blonde mohican and I'll be in the bunkhouse too. I wrote a review for Eloy too, if that helps any. Have fun. -- Hope you don't die. -- I'm fucking winning
