International Shipment

Recommended Posts

Ok so i'm talking to another DZ.comer and wanting to check out some gear before i buy. The problem is he is in Canada and I am in Missouri. Do you have to pay customs if the gear is just coming for an inspection? I'm sure the answer is yes just wanted to see what others have experienced. Thanks

Patrick

Rule #1. UPS are shit for international shipping; they will fuck you in the ass with brokerage fees. I tend to prefer the post office.
If the products are American there will be no duties going south. If you return it make sure you mark it as a product return. If he keeps his originalshipping reciept it should be all good.

Andrew is right about UPS being the worst international shipper. I believe that the statement "fuck you in the ass with brokerage fees" is specifically written into the UPS policy manual because they do it consistently.

Lat year I bought a product, the US seller - a company, would not ship any other way other than UPS. It was a $30 item plus $20 for shipping. When it got to Canada UPS charged me an additional $30 for brokerage fees to shepherd it through customs. Funny things was there were no customs fees. Nope the feds didn't want any money for bringing it into Canada, but UPS sure did. They followed the "fuck you in the ass with brokerage fees" policy to the letter. So my $30 item ended up costing $80. I would rather have used USPS.
