karenmeal 0 #26 November 28, 2006 I wish they would close the UW in Seattle. The Bothell and Tacoma branches are closed/delayed. Nobody is out on the roads near my house, everything is solid ice. I don't want to drive in this stuff (because I'm not that good at it and don't need an accident!) but I don't want to skip classes today either. Arggh! I wish they would give some consideration to the commuters. Even the bus routes are closed. Edited to add a picture of our dog enjoying the snow. ACMESkydiver 0 #27 November 28, 2006 We're closed, too. And I guess I'm missing my doc appt this morning. Damn I SHOULD HAVE freakin' went to Home Depot last night!! Now my contractor can't work on my bathroom today; I was supposed to buy the shower fixtures, grout, and a few other things so he can get the drywall in today. CanuckInUSA 0 #28 November 28, 2006 QuoteToo many crazy people that don't know how to drive in the snow out there I was going to make fun of you guys what with you saying that there is 2 inches of snow on the ground and all the schools are closed while we here on the other side of the mountains deal with just as much snow (if not more) and much much colder temperatures and well nothing is closed (life goes on in the frozen north). But I guess if people don't know how to drive on the white stuff and are not equipped with the proper tires, then maybe it's best not to be driving. Oh and the sun is shinning today here in cold cold Alberta. So it's much easier to stomach the cold. One more day they say and then things are supposed to start slowly warming up here. CanuckInUSA 0 #29 November 28, 2006 Love the pic of your dog Karen. I was watching a neighbors dog (a Husky) play outside in the snow on the weekend while it was fridged outside and it funny to see this dog having fun while most of us would be miserable in the cold. BillyVance 35 #30 November 28, 2006 Quote The snow helped the Seahawks bet the Packers. Woohoo! I saw part of the game and I thought it was at Green Bay at first. I thought the Seahawks' stadium has a retractable roof?? Couldn't they have shut it? It was good to see ol' Alexander run roughshod over the Packers for 200+ yards. Shell666 0 #31 November 28, 2006 QuoteOK this shit can stop now..... there is over a foot at my house now..... Pussy. We have over 2 feet here right now. And it was a balmy -30oC this morning when I left for work. Thank god for heated seats! You don't get to whine. 'Shell'Shell
karenmeal 0 #32 November 28, 2006 Well, the problem with the snow here is that it melted and then turned into ice. Since most people don't own chains, that stuff is really hard to drive on. Especially with a hilly terain. "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

Yeah, at work we were watching the game during our breaks, and joking that it looked just like Lambeau Field. We figured it was the Packers with the home field advantage. The Mariner's Safeco Field baseball park just south of Quest Field has a retractable roof, but the football stadium has just partially covered stands. Snow's really not to bad, but rainy days . . . yech! That is great about Shawn. I remember Bo Jackson getting over 200 yards rushing on Monday Night once, by running right over the Seahawk's Boz(o). Believe it or not, I remember seeing that! Brian Bosworth was one of the most feared linebackers in college, and he had a huge ego to match. Bo ran him over like a steamroller. Boz was never the same again. I think there has been only 4 players to ever run more than 200 yards in the NFL. Did you go into school yesterday, Karen? Trying to figure out what I'll be facing when I get back tonight. (Gorgeous photos, by the way! The roads were solid ice, Jeff left to go into work and turned around and came back, seing 3 accidents in less than a mile. To be honest, I'm not good at driving in snow/ice so I didn't push it. But I'll be leaving to go into Seattle in just a little while. A tree went down about a mile down the road.. with the pretty sparkly firey arcking in the dark...KEWL light show.... and finally got it back this morning at 7 AM...the outside temp RAW was 14 degrees... about as cold as it gets here in Western WA.. good thing I have a propane heater and a wood stove... so no frozen water pipes.. and we did have the generator to run a few lights and the heaters in the fish tanks.. otherwise the fish would be tango uniform. Standing by for round 3 tonight as it starrts to warm up with rain coming down thru the cold air.. wanna bet there is freezing rain as the weather hits?
