kenz 0 #1 November 29, 2006 so with the holidays coming around - what kind of gifts to you prefer on the receiving end i can't stand the damn commercialization of the holidays, and i am SUPER strapped for cash again this year and it drives me bananas, yet i still want to give people things i cannot afford - i guess the thought is nice - right?? what do YOU like :)"life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me
Bolas 5 #2 November 29, 2006 I hate buying gifts except when I have a really great idea of what to get someone that I know they won't get for themselves or never thought of but will love. Then I'm usually more excited and impatient to give then they are to get it. Unless it's for my nephews. Giving toys is always fun. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

selbbub78 0 #7 November 29, 2006 i prefer the thought behind something. I'd rather have someone put some thought into something then to buy me something that says the "HAD" to get me something. Heck, just a simple "Merry Christmas" is enough for me!!! gonzalesna 1 #9 November 29, 2006 If you're gonna get me something, I usually just ask for cash... it helps fund the addiction. I, however, am not married, nor do I have any kids, so the "make me a gift" doesn't apply as much. I love getting drawings from my nephew though. I guess I'd go for cash or something homemade. I'm not big on cards. Verbalizing the appreciation or holiday greeting is plenty for me.Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. Personally, I find a myriad of entertainment value when beating it until it becomes a horse-smoothie.
guppie01 0 #10 November 29, 2006 hmmmm, well right now I'm only in the mood for the mountains. So the perfect gift for me right now would be a drive up to the mountains, perhaps a lil snow play time, or a picnic would be PERFECT!!!! I REALLY want to make a snow angel, have a snow ball fight, make a snowman!!! Miss home.... g"Let's do something romantic this Saturday... how bout we bust out the restraints?" kenz 0 #11 November 29, 2006 QuoteQuality time is the perfect gift i definitely like that idea a whole lot :) i'm working on a gift for someone that i really hope does not turn out shitty - and if it doesn't i will take pictures and post em :) anyway being that i started this one, answering might not be a bad idea.... for me - i love quality time, and cards - i don't need anything expensive, i'm really not into that stuff i can't stand flowers - because if you are going through the trouble of spending that kind of money on me i'd rather have something to hang on to, then something i have to throw away in 3 days because they died knowing that you're thinking of me means more than i could ever express - it's an incredible feeling to know that someone thought of you, even if it was just a moment of their day - (if you guys haven't figured out by now that im a total sap you'll get it eventually) anyway happy shopping, making, creating this season :)"life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me

I am getting her a new mirror for her telescope. or ill just make her cum 15 times in one night. but i already ordered the mirror. that girl likes the sky more than i do. but i like fucking the sky, she just likes watching

FlyingJ 0 #16 December 5, 2006 The painting is great, nice job! I hate the giving of gifts just because you are supposed to. I love the giving of gifts when it really means something to the giver/receiver. I usually try to make gifts more of an experience if possible. Last year, totally broke over the holidays, I bought what I thought would be a fun dvd trivia game and brought it home as my gift to the whole family. We spent hours laughing our asses off playing the game, and I was much happier with that than if I had just come up with some little thing for everyone individually. This year I think I'll be able to pull together the cash to go and have family pics taken. It's been about 15 years! While I do appreciate gifts that are sentimental in nature, or that someone puts time into making, I'm not really a big fan of "knick knacky" type gifts that will just end up in a drawer. I appreciate the thought, but I'd prefer "let's go spend the day at the park and I'll pack the lunch" to being given a card that I know I'll keep in a drawer and then feel bad about tossing later.Killing threads since 2004. quack 0 #20 December 5, 2006 Anything consumable. Like cookies. It's really just the thought that counts (sorry for the cliche ) Too many people put themselves in the red, JUST BECAUSE it's Christmas. Just show someone that you are thinking of them. swedishcelt 0 #25 December 5, 2006 I agree with those who said time. Time with someone special would be great. The best presents I have gotten involved me flying to see someone or them flying to see me. There is nothing like being with a good friend or someone special who lives far away.
