Andy_Copland 0 #1 December 2, 2006 QuoteIt is with a heavy heart and great sorrow that i bear the sad news that Bounce, our "friendly" DZ cat, has passed on to the great dropzone in the sky. Spotted sleeping on your canopy, harassing small dogs and children, or terrorising any static line student naive enough to approach him, he'll be sorely missed That cat was the first friend i made during AFF, he never attacked me although he was one mean bastard 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. Until morale improves, the beatings will continue.
ltdiver 3 #2 December 3, 2006 Sorry about Bounce. Sounds like he was a memorable fixture around the DZ. Speaking of fiesty kitties, I ran across this video today and your post reminded me of it. "Mean bastard"? Take a look at this! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qdVUdVXC0A&mode=related&search= ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
Sockpuppet 0 #3 December 3, 2006 QuoteThat cat was the first friend i made during AFF Not sure thats something to be proud of? ------ Two of the three voices in my head agree with you. It might actually be unanimous but voice three only speaks Welsh.
Stumpy 284 #4 December 3, 2006 That cat didn't have friends, it had targets. I will miss the scars.Never try to eat more than you can lift
cpoxon 0 #5 December 3, 2006 Playing with Bounce was like playing Russian Roulette with five bullets in the barrell, but it was worth it. I'm going to miss that cat :'-(Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live
skydog 2 #6 December 3, 2006 No longer will I be able to tell the tandem students that playing with the cat is more dangerous than skydiving........ ExAFO 0 #7 December 3, 2006 For the uninitiated, where did Bounce live? Was he basically a prick to all, or did he have his favourite people? Was he fixed--are there potential Bouncelings out there? Are you going to get a new DZ Cat?Illinois needs a CCW Law. NOW.
MooChooser 0 #8 December 4, 2006 He lived on the DZ at chatteris. Nowhere inparticular just in any caravan or room that was left open. Hed catch his own food most of the time but in winter we'd help him out. He was fairly wild I guess. It was always funny to see the punters reactions as he dragged a rat in from the airfield and started crunching on it infront of them. I think he had favourite people but they werent safe from attack. One microlight guy here spent 2 days recovering in hospital following an encounter with Bounce. He was fixed and I dont think there are plans to replace him. He was a little bastard but he'll be missed around the place.
Stumpy 284 #9 December 4, 2006 Shortly after that pic was taken craig lost an ear. Edited to add - that was what made bounce so exciting - he would be looking like he is in that pic, purring his little heart out, (lulling you into a false sense of security) you are starting to think - all those people who warned me were having a laugh, Purr.... purr.... purr.... WHALLOP!! (screams...) Never try to eat more than you can lift
caz 0 #10 December 4, 2006 Always used to amuse me that people used to see Kim's doberman's (dobermen?!) and then laughed at the 'beware of the cat' signs thinking they were taking the piss, yeah right! Little bastard only got me once, but I saw his eyes glint pure evil just before he swiped me and I managed to get away with just a small scratch! RIP Bounce. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
Skyrad 0 #11 December 4, 2006 Bounce was great. there were signs up around the DZ warning people about him He was a first rate DZ cat. I never had him attack me but I've seen him have a pop before. As for Kims dobermans they're just lovely. RIP Bounce. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Skyrad 0 #13 December 4, 2006 He had a real don't mess with me look but at times he was quite affectionate. Other times he was wild and aggresive but always good value. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy.
