I would have to say that Brad Pitt (not just cause he's sexy) fits the bill. Think about his movies: Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Fight Club, Troy, Interview with a Vampire, Kalifornia, 12 Monkeys...the list goes on. He is an amazingly diverse actor. I must also say that Christian Bale is the man. He was outstanding in Batman Begins, American Psycho and should have received an Academy for The Machinist! Some actors that we are led to believe are good actors, always play the same character and same roles. Boring. That's why everyone flipped when Robin Williams played weird bad guys in One Hour Photo and Insomnia. He was surprisingly good.
