SkydiveStMarys 0 #1 December 8, 2006 How old were you and do you remember the news announcement? I remember quite vividly and I was a YOUNG EARLY teen. Imagine there's no Heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace You may say that I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world You may say that I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one BobbiA miracle is not defined by an event.
 tigra 0 #24 December 9, 2006 Wow, he's been dead 26 years, and the Beatles have been broken up for how long? But we're still bashing Yoko! What I remember is that John Lennon was killed at a time in his life when he seemed to have finally found some peace and happiness. He was off drugs, working, had a successful new album and was very happy with his wife and young son. His album Double Fantasy was all about the "new start" he had in life, and whether you like her or not, Yoko gets a lot of credit for that. He was a man who always had a dark and self destructive side to him, but he seemed to have conquered some of those demons shortly before he died. John Lennon a doormat? Wow! That's funny! You know, I'm sure Cynthia Lennon's book is interesting, but when you come right down to it, is it really much more than the memoirs of a bitter ex wife?
