cocheese 0 #1 December 16, 2006 If it's 3000 miles from New York to California. And the time difference is 3 hours, then to see a 3 hour sunset you must fly in a plane at about 1000mph. Is this correct? How fast at the equator? same speed as the earth? Mid season, not equinox. Have any of you ever done this?

BillyVance 35 #5 December 16, 2006 Quoteplane= concorde. unfortunately it dosent fly anymore. And even if the concorde was still flying, it wouldn't be allowed to fly supersonic over land. PhreeZone 20 #6 December 16, 2006 It can fly super sonic overland, It just can not cross the sonic threshold over land. They once were doing London - LAX runs on the Concorde. Also the Blackbird hold the speed records for LA-NYC and you better believe it was supersonic the whole time.
