Video guru's: Please help, there has to be a better way

Recommended Posts

So I'm putting together an end-of-the-year DVD for my family as a holiday gift. I have 5 mini DVs full of video.

I have had no problem using Windows Movie Maker to make short films (less than 5 min.) previously and it was fun.

But now I'm having to capture ALL the film onto my hard drive prior to even getting to the editing phase - this will take 20 hours :o:S

There has to be a better way... help! B|

If you have 15 tapes, you have 15 hours of capptuing. No way around that. Good news is that its a click and walk away type operation.

As a hint, I capture every time I get more then a few tapes shot so I con't have to rush it and can chop out all the junk off the start.

At 15 tapes you are probally looking at a 80 hour project if you want to get it to a single DVD with anything fancy in at at all. If its hour long shots of baseball games it might be faster, but if its tons of shorter clips its a long process to edit that many tapes.
