skydivedan 0 #1 February 2, 2007 When is a good time of year to sell gear? I live in Canada and would think no one was looking for gear this time of year since the weather is bad. But in places like Arizona are people looking for gear in January?? Also wondering... is it a good or bad idea to sell gear on Ebay? I have a complete system that I want to sell... and I'm just looking for some feedback as to when is a good time to sell... and where to sell it. And what is the easiest and safest way for me ie. disclaimers etc. Thanks for any comments...
PhreeZone 20 #2 February 2, 2007 The classifieds on here work great for selling gear and best of all there is no fee. The easiset was to sell it is to post and ad and when someone responds and wants to inspect the gear contact their rigger or DZO. Have the rigger hold their money and then you ship the rig to the rigger for inspection. If it passes inspection then have them send the money to you. If it fails then they ship the rig back.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

Are riggers ok doing that? Seems like alot work for them... but of course they take a cut?
skydiveal 0 #4 February 2, 2007 im sure most riggers would be happy to help out if you pay them for the reserve pack. on the classifieds here good gear at the right price will sell. the best time to sell to americans is in spring and the big manufacturers are quoting 3 months on new gear.my hovercraft is full of eels. peregrinerose 0 #5 February 2, 2007 I both bought and sold gear on here... once each. Both were very good transactions... both parties gave the other references so everyone felt comfortable with the large amounts of money and value of gear getting shipped, in both cases to/from different countries. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda

ALL of the riggers I have dealt with would act as escrow at no charge. They earn their $$ for the inspection and repack. Even if you do your own inspection on the harness, container and main, they will still, at the very least, do a complete I/R on the reserve. My reality and yours are quite different. SkyChimp 0 #7 February 3, 2007 Right you are.....It worked for my friend in Eloy. Super smooth transaction for him and the buyer. Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!
jumpnjivin 0 #8 February 5, 2007 I'm in the midst of a transaction from an ad from the classifieds from here and we are brokering through a rigger at my dropzone. Spring probably would be the best time but you never know when somebody's got the xtra loot, (tax refunds are coming soon). I'd post it here and see what happens.
