tetra316 0 #1 December 27, 2006 I've heard about the 3oz rule for carry on liquids but that doesn't apply to checked baggage right? What about bottled water, or just your empty water bottle?
SBS 0 #2 December 27, 2006 it does not apply to checked baggage. water is not allowed through security. I don't know about empty water bottles. I don't imagine it would be a problem, but you can check the NSA website. -S_____________ I'm not conceited...I'm just realistic about my awesomeness... skymama 37 #4 December 27, 2006 You can buy water once you pass through security. PLFXpert 0 #5 December 27, 2006 Having just recently been through airport security twice...one word of advice: SOCKS! I knew I would have to take off my shoes, but I didn't know I'd not be able to put them back on until I'd walked 20 yards. Yuck! The first airport we flew out of didn't have booties. The second one did, but anything nasty on the floor would not have been stopped by those thin holey things. I had on slip-on tennies with no socks on the way there. Each liquid has to be under 3 ozs and all your liquids total must fit into one regular sized zip lock bag. I had Germ-X, moisturizer for face, moisturizer for hands, and a big thing of Burt's Bees lip balm & cuticle cream. It all fit into my plastic baggie, no problemo. Liquids rule does not apply to checked baggage. Once through security, you can buy any food or drink you want and it is permitted to bring on the plane. We would buy two huge things of water before each flight. I recommend that, too, b/c they "have to pour it for you" on the plane if you ask for their water and their cups are so small. And no matter how much you offer them, they won't let you buy the bottle. Learned that on the first short leg, thank goodness. I drink water like a fish and you might as well drink a bunch to keep from getting sick. Nothing else to do but get up and use the restroom anyways. Feels good to stretch your legs. Sucks for the person in the isle seat, but whatever. I like a window. Portable DVD player is an excellent idea and....I think that's it. Overall my flying cross-country experience didn't suck.Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
floridadiver81 0 #6 December 27, 2006 I HIGLY agree with the socks..not so much for the floor at the airport but for the nasty people hat dont belive in normal personal hygiene. When i flew from virginai the mississipi..while i was in norfolk going through security there was this dude that literally looked like he has some sort of viscous stuff growing off his feet..and he wasnt wearing socks. farkin nasty!"Age has absolutely nothing to do with knowledge, learning, respect, attitude, or personality." -yardhippie "Fight the air, and the air will kick your ass!!! AggieDave 6 #7 December 27, 2006 I wonder how long it will be until the TSA will disallow you from carrying the liquid in your bladder? I mean, what if a terrorist has the clap and urinates on someone? They could end up being in pain in a week!
