How does he Know?

Recommended Posts

Invariably, my dog, who lives outside, knows within 30 seconds that I have decided it is time to go for a run.
He goofs off in the yard all day and never attempts to come in the house. As soon as I decide to run, he's at the front door, whining. He's ready to go.

I do not have a set schedule, so that theory's off the table.

Dogs have a sixth sense. Nad maybe his hearing is off the chart too...maybe he can hear you getting ready..or see you with certain clothes on..whcih you run in normally.

I don't make any more noise than if I were getting ready for work, and my door is closed all of the time.

I think that your dog has some sort of mental control over you. Its not you deciding to go to run but your dog thats COMMANDING you to do so. ;)

Soooo... without knowing, and no matter what you are doing, you feel the sudden need to run.
And at the door... he is not really whining.. he is laughing his ass off :D:D

Do you have any idea how accute a dog's hearing is?

He can hear your running shoes as you walk to the door. He has associated that sound with you running.

He also knows the sound of your car. Not just cars -like- your car, but your actual, individual car.
