ntrprnr 0 #1 January 2, 2007 Gang o DZ'ers... Heard varying things on the "dropzones" section to asking here - what's the story with fun jumping in Vegas? I'm out there for four days next week for CES, and am wondering if it's worth taking my rig along for a day of blowing off the show and jumping. If so, I need to rent a car. But then comes the question, how long of a drive am I going to face if I'm a fun jumper? Yes, I know if I'm a tandem I can get picked up at my hotel and driven out to the drop zone, complete with several hookers. But fun jumpers? Anywhere in Vegas, or does that expand to "nevada?" Brad and crew have a Caravan.. and the vibe is coolio..the jumping is awsum and people are great. After hours... head down to the Tables at the Casino's at the bottom of the hill for some fun.... I think they have a better payout than they do in Vegas . It is kind of pricey...we are doing 5 three minute flights each for $175 each (the only way to even make it worth it...they want $70 for a single three minute flight...yeah right), but we'd love for you to join us. The DZO is Brad. He's got a few tandems each day this week except for one. He'll be flying the 182 though. If you get a chance you should go up there thisweekend. If you are here for the weekend of the 15th there is a great boogie going on. EDIT: its about 90 miles north of the strip. I will try to work with youif you need a ride. I called the DZO (Nice guy, actually) and So one afternoon I took off. I spend a lot of time in Vegas (my brother lives there) and so I usually tell them I live in town - they'll usually open up a lot faster if they find out you're a local. Anyways the DZ in mention wasn't too bad, but it was just hard to get on a load because of the tandems and I couldn't find anybody to go play in the sky with me.... Just nobody else out there.....
