BillyVance 35 #6 January 2, 2007 I can say this was probably one of the five greatest bowl games ever. 22 points scored in the final 86 seconds or so of regulation, ending with BSU getting that 50 yard touchdown pass/lateral on 4th and 18 getting into the end zone with 7 seconds left. Then in OT with QB Zabriskey running left and a former walk-on QB lofting a pass into the end zone for a TD. Then Zabriskey, going for the win on the 2 point conversion with a pump fake pass, then handing it behind his back to his running back who ran in untouched. Unbelievable is all I can say. Where's Boise State ranked? They should finish the season #2 in the final poll if Ohio State beats Florida."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban

b1jercat 0 #8 January 2, 2007 I would agree with you, the statue of liberty play at the end was sweet. I think they are ready to play with the big boys, Boise isn't the podunk town it use to be. blues Jerry
livendive 8 #9 January 2, 2007 It was a seriously awesome fucking game. Phone calls and much yelling were coming from my house, with occasional phrases that sounded remarkably like "best bowl game ever". If by some chance Florida knocks off the Buckeyes, there will be exactly one undefeated team in college football, and they won't be the National Champs (though they could get a share of it). Awesome game. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
ACMESkydiver 0 #10 January 2, 2007 No sh*t, eh? I had 17 people screaming for OU in my house yesterday. NOBODY could believe it! I couldn't care less about OU...so I thought it was kinda funny everyone yelling and throwing stuff and freaking out. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. WatchYourStep 0 #11 January 3, 2007 Boise played a hell of a game and had a good season, but to say they should be #2 is...well undeserving at best. A top 10 team maybe, but a top 5 no way. They play nobody during the regular season. Once they pick up a few ranked opponents then maybe. The WAC is just a really weak conference. None the less hats off to Boise State for playing a hell of a game. That was amazing. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. However, they beat an OU team that was quite possibly one blown call away from playing for the national championship. And they beat them even with Adrian Peterson's return from the broken collarbone. Now if Boise wants some real respect, they should join the PAC 10 and play some better competition. The conference trends are going to 12 team leagues with a league championship game. If only the PAC 10 and Big 10 would get in line with everyone else. Louisville didn't get any respect back in 1990 either before they played in the Fiesta bowl with a 10-1 record and handed Alabama a 34-7 woodshed whupping. Now Louisville is in an upcoming league to be reckoned with, The Big East, whose bowl teams won every game this time around."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
WatchYourStep 0 #13 January 3, 2007 Yeah OU was on the wrong side of the call earlier in the season, but they still lost to Texas and that cost them their shot. If they wouldn't have lost to Texas I think Stoops would have done a good enough job to get the nod in the polls. The Big XII was very disappointing this bowl season going a big 3-5. Oh well, now if LSU and OSU both win it'll make me happier. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. yjumpinoz 0 #14 January 3, 2007 This situation is exactly why they should have a playoff system in place. Maybe 4-6 teams....

Yes, that's the same Oregon State team that ended USCs streak this season. I think the WAC is 3-1 in bowl games this year, with the one loss being Nevada's 1 point deficit to Miami. If Florida manages to beat Ohio State, and if I had a vote, it'd go to Boise State for beating all comers. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" BillyVance 35 #16 January 3, 2007 QuoteThis situation is exactly why they should have a playoff system in place. Maybe 4-6 teams.... What they have right now, all 4 major bowls keep their games, then the following week the national championship game is played at one of those 4 stadiums. All they'd need to do is pair #1 - #4 and #2 - #3 in two of those 4 games and the two winners meet the next week in the BCS game. The only logistic problem is getting the winners turned around in a week and all the fans having to make additional travel plans, unless of course, one team plays in the same stadium twice, then everyone gets an extended vacation. Not much chance of that happening anyway."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban

Boise State is good and they did cream Oregon State, but Boise State being ranked #1 if OSU loses, well...that's just funny. Of course like they say that's why they play the game. PS: I was so upset that Nevada lost. I can't stand Miami mainly Coker I wanted him to end the season with a loss, but not this time. I can't stand the Vols and especially Fat Fulmer. I hate the 'Canes too. At least they had a bad year by their standards, which is good enough for me. Now, there's one more team I really want to see lose.... Notre Dame. Can't stand them uppity snobbish won't-join-any-conference bastards. So, LSU, get out there and extend their bowl losing streak to 9 games!! With the parity that is slowly developing in the college game, getting up for it 13 times in a row says something. I'm certainly not saying that I think Boise St. is the most talented or best coached team in the land, but in the absence of a playoff, I think I'd have to give credit to a 0 in the loss column. I couldn't in good faith vote someone else above them who didn't bring their A-game every time. And the whole point is moot, the vote only token, since the NCAA doesn't recognize a football champion anyhow. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" I hated Penn State throughout the 1980's when they had the 10 year intersectional rivalry with Alabama (who went 6 - 4 against them), but I have admired them ever since. With the exception of 2 or 3 bad years, they have played very good football since the 90's. Joe Pa and Bobby Bowden are the last of a dying breed... coaches who stay at one school for more than 2, even 3 decades.
