KevinMcGuire 0 #1 January 3, 2007 I've notice that I can't copy any songs to my IPod Nano that were previously recorded to my computer in real player. I understand that the two formats, real player and Itunes, are not compatable, but, is there a way to get around that? Are there any hacks or software on the web that will help? Thanks Kevin
McDuck 0 #2 January 3, 2007 Are the files you're trying to transfer mp3 files? I don't use Real Player. Just not fond of it, so I don't know if it converts files as it imports them.Kevin - Sonic Beef #5 - OrFun #28 "I never take myself too seriously, 'cuz everybody know fat birds don't fly." - FLC Online communities: proof that people never mature much past high school. labrys 0 #3 January 3, 2007 Try updating to the latest version of RP. As far as I know, that's compatible with the iPod. If not, burn your stuff to CD then import it to the IPod Edit to add instructions from Real: http://service.real.com/realplayer/support.html?section=iPodRPinstallOwned by Remi #? mnealtx 0 #4 January 3, 2007 The file has to be encoded as either MP3 or AAC to play on the iPod, so you may have to re-encode those files (with a resultant loss of quality). The best solution is to re-rip the CD's as MP3 - that'll be compatible with any player out there.Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. KevinMcGuire 0 #5 January 3, 2007 All the music I have in real player was recorded years ago and, when I recorded it, I didn't know what player I should have used. Now years later, I've lost many of the CDs that I used to copy the files and I'm kind of stuck with the songs on my computer copied in real player. As for your question about how the files are copied, I simply don't know. I a bit behind when it comes to being computer savy

VectorBoy 0 #9 January 3, 2007 Go into your Itunes preferences and set your copying bit rate under "custom" to the max. The default is about half this. Your files will be twice as big but they will retain more fidelity. This has nothing to do with your problem but it will keep you from being unhappy with the sound quality which could be another problem.
