TomAiello 26 #27 January 4, 2007 QuoteOr worse....are you a VOLS fan??? Actually, my wife has a rule that nothing Orange can be worn in our house during football season. Honestly, I've never been much for organized sports. The very first football game I ever went to was because my wife dragged me there. My wife, on the other hand, is a _huge_ fan. We live in Idaho, where you just don't see this sort of thing, and we've got a team flag flying from our house, big magnetic emblems on her car, and a personalized car tag.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
BillyVance 35 #28 January 4, 2007 QuoteI was a little worried the way ND came back in the second half and tied things up, so I was glad to see that LSU prevailed. I went to bed in the third quarter, I can't stay up that late for sports. I suppose I have to root for the Gators to win since they're in the SEC, but I really don't want to. They tied it up late in the 2nd quarter, then LSU got a TD right before halftime and the rout was on. As for Notre Dame's situation, anybody seen the schedule they play?? 2 Sat., Sep 2 @Georgia Tech W 14-10 3 Sat., Sep 9 Penn State W 41-17 4 Sat., Sep 16 Michigan L 47-21 5 Sat., Sep 23 @Michigan State W 40-37 6 Sat., Sep 30 Purdue W 35-21 7 Sat., Oct 7 Stanford W 31-10 9 Sat., Oct 21 UCLA W 20-17 10 Sat., Oct 28 @Navy W 38-14 11 Sat., Nov 4 North Carolina W 45-26 12 Sat., Nov 11 @Air Force W 39-17 13 Sat., Nov 18 Army W 41-9 14 Sat., Nov 25 @USC L 44-24 Bowl Wed., Jan 3 Sugar Bowl @LSU L 41-14 There are quite a good number of easy games on that schedule, and they like it that way, it adds up the Ws. I don't know how they beat the hell out of Penn State though. People are right when they say ND is over-rated. They keep getting the major bowl invites that they have not earned on the field, and their 9 bowl loss streak proves it. Moreover, they refuse to join any conference because they can keep the bowl payout to themselves and keep the schedule easy, and so what if they lose. Money talks. It is pretty much why I can't stand them little bastards. Think they own college football. I can tell you that if they join the Big Ten and stop playing the service academies, they would lose 3 more games a year. I respect Penn State because they saw the light and moved to the conference because they know what it takes to earn the wins and compete for the championships, and they have the guts to do it. 2fat2fly 0 #29 January 4, 2007 That's why I agree with the people that say that there shouldn't be a poll until games are played. Undeserving teams get high rankings in the preseason polls and if they have an easy schedule, they don't drop.....and if it's a legacy school, they don't drop much, then. the first rankings should come out the 3rd week of the season.I am not the man. But the man knows my name...and he's worried
