BillyVance 35 #1 January 5, 2007 I have some video clips loaded in my computer and have a question... Some of them are from my Sony PC1 and I was able to upload them directly into Windows Movie Maker and save as .wmv format. Well, now I have a Kodak C743 camera that can take videos as well as digital pictures, but when I copy to the computer they come in as .mov format. I don't seem to have anything that lets me convert to .wmv format or upload from the camera to a specific format. littleskycrab 0 #2 January 5, 2007 Hey I have that same camera and can't figure out how to transfer this video to the computer. BillyVance 35 #3 January 5, 2007 I'll have to try it again and see what I did. I don't remember how I did it the first time but it was done within the Kodak EasyShare software. It basically copied the files into the computer as .mov files. I tried using the Windows Movie Maker to capture the video clips but it wouldn't recognize the camera. My guess being that it uses a USB cable and not firewire, and the camera automatically configures the clips as .mov files... and I don't like WMM in that I can't insert video clip files already in the computer. I have to capture directly from my camera, which I do just fine from the PC101. I am soooo fucking behind with the technology. Why can't you simply import them, as shown in the start-up screen and under the "File" menu? Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" The camera automatically formats the video into a .mov file, and it can only be copied to the hard drive via USB cable. labrys 0 #6 January 5, 2007 I tried to find a codec or free software to import .mov files into WMM a long time ago and ended up buying quicktime pro, which can export mov files to avi files. It wasn't very expensive. There may ne more options now, it's been a while.Owned by Remi #?
PhreeZone 20 #7 January 5, 2007 Thats because its a Kodak camera. POS.. Its already encoding it and unless you use their applicition or a higher end program or QT Pro then you can't edit it. If its transfering via USB then thats already not a great sign...Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

Besides it was a Xmas gift that I got along with a PictureMate portable photo printer that does print awesome 4X6s via the memory cards. QT Pro may be the way to go, then again, I still have my Sony PC101 for video anyway."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
pilotdave 0 #10 January 5, 2007 Haven't tried this, but google is my best friend: http://www.gold-software.com/download9363.html Google "convert mov to wmv" and you'll get a bazillion other options. Dave
