How Much Money Would It Take?

Recommended Posts

I was just contacted by a market research firm who wanted me from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on a Saturday. They were willing to pay me $175 plus meals. I didn't even hesitate. That's not enough money to give up a jump day.

How much money would it take for you to be willing to give up a Saturday?
What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy
ones? -- Monday.

I give up every Saturday and normally a few nights a week from Nov. until Feb. because I officiate wrestling. The money is good and it lets me build a nice little egg to spend.

On a weeknight I can make 150, on a Saturday I can make anywhere from $170-$250 depending on the tourney.

Give up a Saturday for WHAT . . . we need specifics - what would the job entail?
I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama

500 at least

That's what I was thinking.

So you need a months rent to not skydive for one day?

Market research is where you sit around with a group of people and give your opinion about whatever the subject is that day.

It works out to roughly $22/hr, not bad, it would pay for 8 jumps on a Sunday.;)
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

I'd take the money...you don't exactly know if you giving up a jump day, just that you'll be giving up a chance to spend time at the dz...weather can wreak havok on a good jump day.

I've given up saturdays for $200, but I just look at that as making my sunday jumping free :)
What goes up, must come DOWN!!!

I suppose cost of living in an area would make a difference in how much they would offer.

Saturday is my only "free" day. Even if I weren't skydiving, I wouldn't want to give up the day to sit in an office.

So take Sunday off.

Apparently I give up my jumping days for around $8 an hour after it is all said and done.....

damn, that blows.

I hope that's because you are just paying your dues and that will change in time.
