A [jewish] friend may be moving to AL, and I told her that she'd be the only jew there... which lead to wondering if redneck jews exist?

if they do, they prob dont know they are jewish?

A guy I went to college with started a Jewish magazine in Alabama. So there's at least a few down there.

Oh good lord. I just shuddered at the thought. Really nice, smart guy but off the charts in terms of his level of geekitude. But fortunately, proving there's someone for everyone, he had a girlfriend who was every bit as nerdy as he. So I'm betting he put out for her.

yes, i'm told there is a small community or two in AL, but i suspect that they may not be truly rednecks (e.g.stich)

Jewish communities are not really all that visible. They're more spread out in the state, but there are more than a few synagogues and one big one in Birmingham, so they are around, but they don't make big news.
