Is this a bad time to buy a MacBook?

we do still have a PC laptop though...my wife is a realtor, and the MLS system and realtor online forms are pretty much PC oriented. you can access it through a mac, but it is a total hack job...and sloooooow. so be aware of what you will be using the mac for.

In all modern (i.e. intel) macs you can install winblows if you absolutely must. You just have to boot into either one...or you can install paralells and just switch at will without any type of virtual PC action like previous macs.

I watch a lot of Mac rumor sites and I've never seen one for a 13" MacBook Pro. Doesn't make sense to me as it seems they cut off the overlap they used to have between the consumer and pro lines when they introduced MacBook and MacBook Pro. Where did you see that rumor??

I've heard that particular rumor from some very knowledgable (read: their work address is on Infinite Loop in Cupertino) Mac folks I know.

Well, the keynote is over and it was pretty much all iPhone.... which looks very cool but no light was shed on any of the MacBook related issues you were looking for help on. So, I guess the best advice is what stands on the MacRumors buyer's guide...it's a good time to buy because the line was just updated in November.

No Leopard news, no iLife news.

A couple of bits of information released today...

the Core 2 Duo MacBooks will be upgradeable to 802.11n wireless ... just a firmware/software type upgrade using software included with the new 802.11n Airport extreme base station.

Office 2008 for the Mac will be released second half of 2007. It will be a Universal Binary

802.11n is way faster and has greater range than the present wireless standards.
