was it you post on bone density and ethnic origin?

If so, although worded poorly I tohught it was interesting,

Ok, I'll bite. What was the problem with the woding that everyone but *me* seems to see?

Walt

After reflecting on the possibilities, I would have worded the post like this . . .

"Would you believe . . ."

and then just insert the clicky and attach the link to " . . . this?"

The likleyhood of much controversy would have been minimized and the knee-jerk reaction and subsequent deletion of the thread would have been avoided.

I don't get what is so offensive. It is a scientific journal article that happens to address racial differences. Did I miss something?

Nope.

Walt

Yes he did. He missed the original post, and the highly humorous "Derivative Post" that were both deleted.:D

I thought they were very colorful.

I was wondering the same thing...I actually found the article really interesting from a scientific stand point.

I saw it but the other greenie beat me to it but it was going to be scrapped by me anyways or moved depending on the first few responces.

The second post was just a waste of bandwidth since it was bound for the recycle bin as soon as it was posted.

And the history of the recycle bin has just shows that common sense just isn't that common...

Only because humor is subjective, and dependant on moods.

I was wondering the same thing...I actually found the article really interesting from a scientific stand point.

I thought creative academia was to be encouraged but again I was wrong. There was a professor who did a great deal of research on family develpment and she had some theory (presumably supported by data) that stated the importance of both a male and female parental figure in a childs up-bringing. I do not recall the specifics but her argument was that a child needed both figures and apparently children brought up in single parent homes or with two parents of the same gender might be at a disadvantage develomentally to a kid who grew up with a mom and dad. Her points were not an attack on anyone, but gay rights groups protested her and tried to have her banned from several universities.

Why discourage research even if we disagree with it. What next...burn offensive books?

Youll be getting plumpy

But is that a color referance?

Should they do a study to see what the fattest race of people is?

What about the skinniest. Would that be Ethiopians?

Walt

That is a country affiliation, not a race . . . You are SO Insensitive - next you are going to start collecting Geico commercials and start bagging on the cave man.:|

Of course. Offensive discussion is the first sign that people are thinking things that qualify as banned thoughts. We don't want people thinking things that they should not be allowed to think do we. Next thing you know they might want to (gasp) say things that are not supposed to be said.
