It was my intention to finish some design work tonight, but hey, the CES is over with till next year. Might as well have a beer. So much for work. Anyway, while looking for a video of a Lexus commercial, here is what popped up with "lexus commercial dropped from helicopter youtube" as the Google search string and clicking on the first hit:

You know you can just search directly from YouTube, right?

Yeah, but it was not all one search, but a bunch of "search within results" because I didn't want to restrict the search to youtube. Still haven't seen the commercial. Its not on youtube.

i thought that commercial looked fake, and sure enough in the bottom corner it says "Aerial sequence simulated"

so no car was dropped. They probably did the falling speed thing as a physics calculation, assuming the car fell at the slowest speed possible too.
