jumpjunkie2004 0 #1 January 15, 2007 you're sick? I'm very sick. Just a head cold and a fever, but I'm just feeling miserable. I just started my job and we have an audit this week - my first. Icon134 0 #2 January 15, 2007 Technically in order for me to stay home sick I have to somehow go to the "hospital" and prove that I'm actually sick. Fortunately, I haven't had to do "that" yet... though there was that one time I stopped by the office with a broken hand before heading over to the hospital to get an X-ray, etc... Lindsey 0 #3 January 15, 2007 Yes. I wash my hands frequently, cough into a hankie, and take pills of whatever sort will make the day a little easier. When my son is sick, though, I let him stay home from school and rest. Even if he's not ALL that sick. Depends on how necessary it is for you to be there. Don't screw your co-workers over by staying home. But if your being there isn't all that important, then by all means stay home and keep your coworkers safe from the crud you're coughing up. I know isnt that such crap.. you're too sick to actually go into work and ya really just need to stay in bed.. but to do that you have to drag your ass outta bed at the butt crack of dawn to make the early sick call hrs.. to just be given a damn chit that says you can have the day off.. but first you have to drop the chit off to your boss.. then by the time this is all over.. most likely 10 or 11am.. then you can go home and have the day to rest... what crap!! (thats what happened to me last time i went to sick call)

You're in a confined space with shared "work surfaces". sharimcm 0 #9 January 15, 2007 It seems like I get sick when we have something going on that I should be at work for. The first time I called off sick was when there was an audit (last year around Turkey Day), and the second time was when the new manager was starting (two or three weeks ago). Yea, I'm sure I made a good impression on him... At least I called though... I'd prefer to stay home and wallow in self pity... They'd better damn well be dying to call in sick. It's funny that way with folks working in the hospital....how many work excuses do you write for people who aren't as sick as you?-- A conservative is just a liberal who's been mugged. Alas, I don't have an office (I work in a freakin' cubicle!!!!!!) so I don't have the luxury of ignoring people by closing my door. Then again, when we had offices, it didn't matter if your door was closed or not. People would just walk in. Hope you're feeling better! Drinks lots of water, get some sleep, this too shall pass. apollard24 0 #14 January 16, 2007 I havent had to use my sick days for being sick because I like to save them for a skydiving day. But if I was sick I would stay at home. Who knows maybe you will get there and they will see how sick you are and send you home to bed.Breathe out so I can breathe you in...
