BlueSkiesKel 0 #1 January 15, 2007 Ok, So I want to run a Sprint Tri on Sunday Feb 11th at 7am, BUT.. I dont get off work until 5am which means I'll have basically been up since 3pm Saturday afternoon.. should I still run it? or will my body really hate me for it? I've been trng for it, then they switched my schedule on me and I cant really afford to take leave to run it i'm leaning towards going for it.. am I crazy? Royd 0 #2 January 15, 2007 I say go for it. You'll kick yourself if you don't. Your body will be up to the task and the brain should follow. IMHO

One time I did a 5K race on a saturday evening, then a 20K race the next morning 150 miles away. Granted, not the same thing, but I was more tired than usual afterwards."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban

jmpnkramer 0 #7 January 16, 2007 Hey Kel I know you cannot be the only one on shift. If you work with a cool crew they should let you get some rest. Also Allegedly the best rest before a race is two days before not the night before. Either way your body will pay because it is abusive. I have done a few and body was mad! I cannot believe if they know you are into something that you cannot get someone to switch with ya. GOOD LUCK GIRLY! .The REAL KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER! "HESITATION CAUSES DEATH!!!" GOOD LUCK GIRLY! . well i'll be working both nites before the race.. so not much rest i'll get, and unfortunately we're short on qualified watchstanders right now, which is why i have an unqualed partner.. if he was qualified then i'd have a chance to get some rest, i just cant afford to take that much leave, i'm hopin somone will cover for me to sleep a few hours more.. we will see.. should be interesting thats for sure
 GQ_jumper 4 #9 January 16, 2007 You'd be amazed at what you can do with little/no sleep, some of my best physical performances have happened after being up for a few days. I say go for it, the worst that happens, you have a better understanding of how far you can push yourself and you get some decent cardio out of it.
