ntrprnr 0 #1 January 21, 2007 It's days like this I wish I was just born thin. Real-feel temperature of -7. Ugh._______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

Icon134 0 #3 January 21, 2007 Nothing like a Brisk winter jog to invigorate the soul... wait you were saying it was a bad thing... my bad... what you need is an indoor rower... attach the rower to the computer, attach the computer to the TV... and race some nice pace boats, people on the internet, or yourself (you can race a previous workout using the software...) all from the comfort of your own livingroom... ntrprnr 0 #4 January 21, 2007 Yeah, that brutally sucked. 1:53:38. Ugh, ugh, ugh. Warmed up by mile 2, by mile 6 I had a layer of frost on my back/shoulders where the sweat would wick through the clothing. Was kind of cool, actually. So it's noted. 1:53 for the first half of the season. Goal by September: 1:38-1:40ish. It's doable. (Now the real reason for the DZ.C Belly-Off contest comes out. :) :)_______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues." Icon134 0 #6 January 21, 2007 Quote that is seriously cool. Tell me where!I bought my Indoor rower several years ago from this website... http://www.concept2.com/ I have a Model C w/a PM3 monitor but the Model D would be just about the same... To get it on the big screen I connected it to my laptop and connected the laptop Via the S-video out... The program I'm using is RowPro from http://www.digitalrowing.com/ and Just so I don't Hijack the thread... Peter I think its seriously awesome that you went out and ran a Half marathon in 17 degree weather. That really rocks and for that matter your finish time sounds pretty good too... (especially considering the temperature) good luck on the goal for september. I'm actually hoping to complete another indoor rowing marathon before May... (I want to do a better then my marathon pace for a PR... which is my reason for participation in the belly off...) Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife... ntrprnr 0 #7 January 21, 2007 Oh, please. Far from a hijack - I want one of those rowers, too!! I just bought a bike - gotta switch up and cross-train this year or I'll blow my knees out long before the marathon._______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" Icon134 0 #8 January 21, 2007 I used to row in College and bought one when I got my first "real" job... just so I could go back and remind myself of those painful erg workouts... It really is one of the best cross training workouts that I have ever come across. The Concept 2 Indoor Rowing ergometer is well built and well worth the money. But you Can probably get one in good condition at ebay... If y'all get one be sure to get a model C or higher... and to connect it to the computer you'll need a PM2+, PM3 or PM4 Monitor (if either of you find a model C with a PM2 and would like a PM2+ monitor I'll be happy to send you my old PM2+ monitor, as I just upgraded my monitor to a PM3...) that goes for anyone for that matter as I don't need the monitor anymore.Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
