But kittens eat for various reasons, not just because they're hungry; often they'll eat because they're teething, and it soothes the gums (where the whole chewing thing comes in, too), or because they're bored. Try free feeding some high quality kitten food (if it's still under 1 year), discourage food from your plate/hands (unless it's kitten treats), and see how that goes. Also get him some chewie toys (they don't make them for cats, so I buy the tiny rawhide sticks made for small dogs), and see if that doesn't help some of the wild eating. But I think it's probably fairly normal that it's constantly eating...
