What did you think of the movie The Queen?

Saw it last night, I have a fascination with Princess Diana. I thought it was ok, but not great. Would have been better if it was a "made for TV movie". . Though the actress that played the Queen was a very good look alike.

Not seen it. As for Diana, I think we are all sick of hearing about her. She died ages ago yet she still keeps appearing on the front page of the papers and on TV all the time.

I think they did a good job. Helen Mirren was fantastic in the role as the queen. She is one of my favorite actors. I first remember seeing her in The Cook the Thief His Wife & Her Lover then then got hooked when she starred in the BBC series Prime Suspect. Strong smart women are hot. She proves that women don't have to lose that, just because they start to get older. Ok, OK, so I have a little thing for Helen Mirren. So sue me.

Nahhh, HM may be older, but you just need to see her in something else that doesn't make her look quite so old. (I don't have a thing for her, but I see how a guy could, sort of in a Sean Connery will always be hot kind of way.) Check her out in something like Calendar Girls.

Helen Mirren won a Golden Globe and is also nominated for an Oscar for that role. Do you think she did an award winning job on it? I haven't seen it yet, but it's on my list.
