'The View' -our channel 4- is doing an amazing story on Autism.

Thought I'd throw that out there. If you don't have a child with Autism, you might in the future (1 in 166 chance) and you DEFINITELY will see parents with Autistics out in the real world...

Maybe you'll be able to recognize it faster for your kids or someone you love. :)

I saw it and it was a great program. I learned a lot.

You have my profound respect...I've tried to imagine how hard your life must be, but seeing some of those kids and listening to their parents share their stores made me realize that I didn't have a clue as to how difficult a task it must be. It deepened my admiration for all the parents out there coping with this. I thought of you, your husband and your daughter when they had the two twin boys on the couch w/their parents...:)

I was glad to see The View use their time for something informative and useful other than for Rosie to wage war with Trump, Kelly Rippa or whoever she's mad at this week.:S

I have never seen the View. My friend called me and told me that they were talking about Autism so I turned it on. :)

The company that we were originally looking at closed down. [:/] Unfortunately, it was the closest to our house (about 3 hours south). The next closest will be a plane ride, and hotel accomodations...etc.

We are still trying to familiarize Joey and Derick to dogs in general. Derick is still having a hard time not being afraid of 'doggies' in general, so we need to conquer that part first. Our caregiver that used to bring her puppy with her just quit, so unfortunately that help is gone...and we can't buy a dog because when we get service dogs, that would be 3 dogs running around here, and that's just too much.

I was thinking about perhaps becoming volunteers to raise a puppy for the program; that way we can get the boys used to a dog and still not end up with an extra one later on. :)

Ah, thank you. :$

Actually I was just mentioning to skymama that seeing those twin boys was eerily familiar. :| They are much like my Joey and Derick. Joey would be more like the boy on the left; he's either intense or totally out of it, and Derick the happy, smiley, lovey bigger boy on the right (who, interestingly, was named 'Joe'!).

My babies are 9 years old right now. God help us find a cure before they are 12...I can barely manage to pick up 75 pounds per of thrashing, over-stimmed Autistic boy in the super market now...I can't fathom when they top over 100 pounds each. :(

Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. Personally, I find a myriad of entertainment value when beating it until it becomes a horse-smoothie.
