leroydb 0 #1 January 30, 2007 Sorry Ladies for the intrusion, but I felt this area of DZ.com more appropriate for this sort of post.... The Demoralization Of Our Youth Every nation & culture produces its share of genius and pathetic people. A measure of your own genius is your ability to recognize this…. Honour (or honor) (as described by wikipedia) is the concept of a direct relation between one's virtues (or "values") and their status within society. Richard Bach says, "You gave your life to become who you are. Was it worth it?" DO NOT for any second, deny yourself an experience due to the influence of people who have no passion for life, excellence, personal development, freedom, etc. They know nothing. And their misguided morals and thoughts are robbing you of something you will cherish forever. Taylor Caldwell., has a poem: "Man is never victorious, never defeated, The cheater yeilds up his loot to the cheated, Wisdom and folly can never be parted, The water returns to the hills where they started." With that being said… Why do I even take the time to amass all these ideas and thoughts together? Come on people, how pathetic is it that you would owe someone money and instead of paying the person you owe, you instead call a friend of the person that you owe and offer them money for something else. I am placing a direct coorelation between the current downfall of society to the denial of “human nature.” It has led to a disconnect between intellectual life and common sense; one might call this a dichotomy. In grand reprisal, the friend declines the offer and then calls the friend to let them know of what happened. Look people if you owe someone money, don’t try to get out of paying that person back… especially if they are underage. Sorry to rant but I had to get this off my chestLeroy ..I knew I was an unwanted baby when I saw my bath toys were a toaster and a radio...

Yes you could, you however chose not to. Leroy, I don't think that this is anything new, people have been abdicating their responsibilities for eons. Most people when given a choice will take what they perceive to be the path of least resistance. However some people place their values on a higher plane, and are guided by their integrity, unfortunately I don't think they have ever been in the majority. You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! loco.cerveza 0 #7 January 30, 2007 Just few quotes By Ayn Rand that I feel help point out how this subject is not a new problem but one that has been around for years. Not just as far as money goes but in many other things that all come back to this subject. Money is only a tool. It will take you wherever you wish, but it will not replace you as the driver. -- Ayn Rand Reason is not automatic. Those who deny it cannot be conquered by it. Do not count on them. Leave them alone. -- Ayn Rand I swear, by my life and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine. --Ayn Rand The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. -- Ayn RandRemember that expectant life span is an average, and most people are below average --Garrison Keillor
