BillyVance 35 #26 January 29, 2007 Is an LCD the flat screen? I know, maybe a dumb question but I'm not all that knowledgable about TVs... "Flat screen" has several meanings. - Originally, CRT screens were curved vertically and horizontally. - Then some came out that were flat vertically, but still curved horizontally. Of course the marketing droids advertised these as "flat". - Then, CRTs came out that really were flat. (I have one downstairs.) LCDs/Plasma/etc are always flat, so the term "flat screen" is really ambiguous."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. Slowfaller 0 #28 January 29, 2007 Slappie, I recommend visiting www.avsforum.com. You'll be able to find info on every kind of television out there to help you make your decision. I voted DLP but mine is two years old and in dark scenes I have trouble w/ "rainbow effect". If I move my eyes quickly across the screen I see red/blue/green lines that can get annoying. The picture in HD is stunning though, and while watching regular DVDs through a Samsung upconvert player. Here is a screen shot of Arrested Development. --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
