kirrz 0 #1 January 28, 2007 so i just got into amsterdam this evening and it's the first time i'm by myself in a hostel. i even booked a 32 bed dorm so that i could make friends. but the two guys in the dorm are passed out and no one else is in the room... why would they be, its 7pm in amsterdam! it seems like everybody in the lobby bar are just hanging around in big groups and know each other or else they are single sleazy guys. i'm not the shyest person but i don't really know how to approach people out of the blue! how how how????? I myself am fairly shy when it comes to talking to strangers, but just introduce yourself (possibly with the aide of ____). The people that are worth talking to will talk back. Find a way to engage them ie: "can you help me out, I have no idea how to roll a _____"l, or some such introduction that will get them engaged. Good luck and enjoy your trip!
