adventurechick 0 #1 February 1, 2007 I absolutely love and live off this tea, especially when I work my crazy 19 hour days. Today, as I was drinking my extreme yerba mate tea, someone told me that it has been known to cause hallucinations. I looked it up on the internet, and apparently it is a side effect! Has anyone ever had a bad experience with yerba mate tea, or known anyone to have a weird experience with it? And if this side effect is really true, then maybe that tree I hit was a hallucinagenic side effect... and there was no tree there... or a runway.... it was a figment of everyone's imagination!! Let's go with this here :o) PMS #449 TPM #80 Muff Brother #3860 SCR #14705 Dirty Sanchez #

One week back in 1997 he stayed with me and I drank it every day with him. I didn't have hallucinations, but I did get really wired up and had trouble sleeping. And after he left, I felt headaches because I think my body was getting used to drinking it daily (stopped drinking it when he left). Anyway, I hope you're enjoying the psychedelic experience. Never had one myself (from yerba mate that is), but maybe I'll drink large amounts of it next time I visit Philly... edited to add: I'm curious to know -- do you drink it as a tea or do you drink it the authentic way with the gourd and the pipe? Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
