Slappie 9 #13 February 1, 2007 Well after watching the show. I think it's pretty ironic how Marcel was "sabotaged" by some of the other members of his team. So it did boil down to personalities and cooking. If you can't get along with the other people in the kitchen; it shows in your final presentation. Ilan deserves it. He worked hard and was a team player with everyone else on the show when needed. It showed in his final menu & presentation. Marcel got what he worked for, to alienate himself from everyone and when it came down to relying on someone else to help him. He had already burnt that bridge. Good second season. I thought Marcel was the better cook of the two - but he was painfully obnoxious and self important. I just about didn't watch this last episode at all - watching two obnoxious idiots compete for a win is way too painful. I would have liked to see Sam and Elia in the finals with Elia winning. She had the most class and seemed to know what she was doing. Though she seemed to lose a ton of her composure the last two episodes. Maybe her class was tied in her hair like Sampson's strength was. But, since none of us was actually able to 'taste' any of the food, it's pretty hard for this thread to be anything but a popularity contest. ... Great, if that's all he ever plans on cooking. But shouldn't a Top Chef be versatile? I, too, think that it would've been a good battle if Sam and Elia had made it to the finals. Last night, after all the judges comments, I was really shocked when Marcel didn't win. He was more creative.
