A common parasite can increase a women's attractiveness to the opposite sex but also make men more stupid, an Australian researcher says.

Parasites? I always thought these were called boobies.
(Admit it, that's a great analogy)

About 40 per cent of the world's population is infected with Toxoplasma gondii, including about eight million Australians.

Until recently it was thought to be an insignificant disease in healthy people, Sydney University of Technology infectious disease researcher Nicky Boulter said, but new research has revealed its mind-altering properties.

"Interestingly, the effect of infection is different between men and women," Dr Boulter writes in the latest issue of Australasian Science magazine.

"Infected men have lower IQs, achieve a lower level of education and have shorter attention spans. They are also more likely to break rules and take risks, be more independent, more anti-social, suspicious, jealous and morose, and are deemed less attractive to women.

"On the other hand, infected women tend to be more outgoing, friendly, more promiscuous, and are considered more attractive to men compared with non-infected controls.

...thus, the explanation of men who marry women with cats. Some horny chick who is getting hammered by a stupid guy and... voila, wedding bells.

Beware the 2-cat woman, she is almost a predator. :o Taking advantage of the gentle, unsuspecting man. Using her feminine wiles and mind-control.

I always suspected that there was some evil basis for the existence of cats. Science proves it.

I have two cats and a dog that "thinks" he's a cat.

I'm still single.

'splain that!

High 5 :D

I suspect that women who have cats, yet remain single, are merely using men and then casting them aside. (sigh) ... mere shadows of their former selves.

I see how another member of the Secret Cat Mind-Control Group chimes in, though. "Nothing to see here, just our harmless cats."

So what...it's fun

Oh! So our feelings don't even matter. :o

Hah. And the things that men do, just to make women happy. Sometimes, I'm not in the mood. I've faked them before, just to be considerate.

How am I repaid? They use their "cat persona". Indifference, looking at their manicured claws. They never write, or even call. :)

This has been an epiphany. The truth has set me free. ;)

Obviously he has been infected and now has a lower IQ.
