When's the Last Time You Went to a Drive-in Movie?

Recommended Posts

My mom sent me a link to this story about the drive-in near their house, where the community took it over and reopened it.

I know there was still one around here about 5 or 6 years ago, but I think it's closed. [:/]

When I was in high school and saw Grease.

A friend had us stop just before we drove in so he could hop in the trunk just so he didn't have to pay!

But then again... maybe he just didn't want anyone to know he was going to see Grease!:D

Spring of 1998. I was six months pregnant and visiting my sister in Arizona. We saw The Titanic.

It was so frustrating because when it got to the part with all the rushing water, I really had to pee. And when you're pregnant and have a full bladder, you have as much luck keeping the water in as The Titanic did keeping it OUT!:S

Since i have the bestest DZO in the world. Rook set up a drive in screen so we could watch skydiving movies during summerfest. Hope he does it again this year, and i'll even promise to stay sober to enjoy the movies.

There were a couple drive-ins in my city when I was a kid, but I don't remember ever going into one before.

So my answer is never. However, if there is a drive-in that offers a movie with "open-captions" I could be persuaded to try it out. :P

I remember going when I was a kid... then not again till about 5 years ago. There was one south of Seattle. I went with three friends, and we had brought chairs and planned to have a nice summer evening sitting outside of the car but the place was lame and made us stay *in* the car.

I really do need to get back to visit my parents during good drive-in weather. It'd be cool to support that drive-in. :)

We used to have 1 around the corner from my house. They closed about 5-6 years ago and then the screen (which also had an apartment in it for the caretaker to live in) burned to the ground. They just finished building a hotel on the site. When my son was younger my wife, son and I used to go on wednesday for $1 a carload night. It was great we would pack some food and beer bring plenty of pillows and blankets and go watch a doubloe feature. I kinda miss it:(
