ACMESkydiver 0 #36 January 2, 2007 QuoteMan is that helmet uggggggggggglyyyy It's a skydiving helmet. have you EVER seen a 'cool' skydiving helmet? They all look like shit. Every single one. They look like old time football helmets that became petrified with age. We all wore our helmets back on the bus ride through town from the landing area to the airport. Everyone thought that we were all from a home for mentally ill adults... Stupid looking helmets! My two nieces are wearing 2 of our skydiving helmets out snowboarding today. They're gonna look stupid, but I told them that it's cool to look like you're an extreme sports star up here in the northwest. I lied my ass off, but these poor girls don't need to go and rent helmets from the damn lift. They can suck it up and look stupid for a few hours. I'm sure their brother will make fun of them plenty...especially my poor 14 year old niece wearing my Havok. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. It's an actual protective helmet that was appropriated for the sport. It's also the only helmet in the sport that's certified. -Blind"If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it." It's also the only helmet in the sport that's certified. Certified by whom for what? Just curious. We wear bike helmets, skydiving helmets, tons of different shite when we snowboard. We are not fancy, and we don't get going too awful fast down the bunny slopes. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. Depending on the particular model, Pro-Tec's are certified to the appropriate standard for bicycling, skating, winter sports, or water safety. It's also possible for a helmet to hold more than one possible cert. With the exception of the water sport safety, the standards are specified by industry trade groups, IIRC. The water sport one is tested to the more stringent European Union government standard. -Blind"If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."
