BlindBrick 0 #1 February 3, 2007 We just got a great deal on a fire engine bed for my son. I'd like to put a red and blue light bar on it, but I only need one about a foot long and it doesn't need to be near as bright or heavy duty as a real lightbar, and needs to be AC powered. Anybody got any ideas? -Blind"If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."
NWFlyer 2 #2 February 3, 2007 Maybe Spencer Gifts or somewhere like that? A Froogle search for "police light" brought up a lot of results, but it's mostly the single light, not the bar."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. O'Rourke
ACMESkydiver 0 #3 February 3, 2007 If it's a fire engine, why would you want to put a red and blue light bar on it? Fire engines are white and red, unless I'm mistaken. Now that I am in TX I see the same thng here. When I was on the east coast all I ever knew was engines and ambulances with red and white lights and blue lights were for police only. I've even seen city utility trucks with blue strobes on them out here. I've been around the change for 4 years now and still not used to seeing blue lights whenever I have to run code three. The blue lights just tell them they are being pulled OVER by a cop, not just to move right and stop, like they are supposed to do for an ambulance (prounounced am-BUH-lants), or fire truck. Want to make some easy money? When a cop is roaring up the shoulder with the lights and siren going and he's on your right, at the last minute pull right, like he's ordering you to do, and let him/her T-bone you. It kills me to watch shows like COPS and the officers are weaving all over with lights and siren going.
Broke 0 #9 February 4, 2007 They don't have them in Ac power varieties, but there are adapters to hook ac power up to a 12v dc and it includes a cigarette lighter style plug.
