sartre 0 #10 February 5, 2007 I was stunned last year when my brother called up to say he was coming for a visit. I hadn't seen him in years; he didn't even bother taking time off to come to my wedding. Turns out he wanted to come here on a geocache trek. It sounded interesting, but knowing him, I figured only losers do it.

Yes, geocaching is finding hidden caches of knick-knacks with a GPS device. If nothing else, it tends to familiarize you with all of the public parks in your area, as most caches are (supposed to be) on public property. We were only able to find one of the four I plotted, but I read the online logs for the others and it looks like other people were having no luck with the other three as well. It's also cool to read the log that everyone who finds a particular cache is supposed to sign to see who was there before you and what they left/took. Cora, who knows I'm a geek and usually just tolerates my various dork-antics, really enjoyed our geocaching adventures. We're planning to place our own cache soonl. Thank you Squeak for trying to clarify that I wasn't calling anyone but my brother a loser. <> I thought if it's something my brother spends all of his time and energy doing, it's probably stupid. But I have since realized that a lot of cool people do it. Many of them people from dz.com. And I still think it sounds like fun myself.
