Ouch... Flooding at Skydive Oregon

Recommended Posts

Any of you locals know more about this? Hope that there wasn't too much gear damage. :(

As some of you may have just heard, Skydive Oregon has suffered a very serious disaster – a water pipe broke in the attic collapsing parts of the ceiling in the loft, flooding the entire building and causing extensive damage throughout. We have just finished meeting with the estimator and while the situation is indeed grim we believe the situation is controllable. We are fully committed to rebuilding and to skydiving – which means that despite the magnitude of the situation, we will be open this weekend.

We will utilize the club house for operations to get things rolling and will add additional temporary facilities as quickly as possible. All of this will take some time to work through, for sure. A restoration company will be on site tomorrow to start the process of clean up and drying out the building and by Monday next week we should have a fair handle on the project, but the early estimate is 6+ weeks until the loft and the bathrooms are usable. We very much appreciate all the early offers of help. Lots will definitely be needed. Right now we need to get what is still good out of the building and wait for the good news tomorrow.

Hours of Operation for this Sat/Sun – 10:00 a.m.
