happythoughts 0 #1 February 8, 2007 QuoteGreek sprinter Katerina Thanou won at the Greek indoor championships on Saturday. The 32-year-old Thanou won the 60 meters in 7.28 seconds. Now, that is hauling butt. This brought two things to mind. First, I can't run that far in 7 seconds. Next, what about all the excellent sprinters who just can't come up with the ticket money to fly to Greece ? It seems to me that we need a digital-age solution here. So, why not just send pics in? Have someone take some pics of your sprinting with a timer? I figure that I would be clearly still in frame at 7 seconds, maybe 5. The easy way to do it? Set the timer on your digital camera to 5 seconds, then press the button and sprint. Then, everyone just send their pics to the Olympic committee instead of flying everywhere for tryouts. Anyway... I think we could do it here. Any takers? Just set your camera down, set for five seconds, hit the button and haul butt away from it. Post a pic. (Since this is non-binding, as far as the Olympics go, we will accept your measurement of your distance.)
