popsjumper 2 #4 February 7, 2007 Sorry, Walt....Cedartown only has 4 lights and none of them have the pedestrian button. Someone else?My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. Falcon5232, SCS8170, SCSA353, POPS9398, DS239
NWFlyer 2 #5 February 7, 2007 Turning both traffic lights to red is probably more dangerous for the pedestrians... At my old job I used to wait for the bus just up the street from the fire station, which was on a one-way street. The fire station could control the lights at both ends of the block so that depending on which direction they needed to go, they could turn left (against traffic) or right (with traffic) out of the station. It would shut down all lights on both intersections for about 2 minutes. So, the fire trucks would be long gone, and drivers would just sit there, confused ... eventually some intrepid pedestrian would cross the street, usually just as some driver decided that the light was never gonna change and he might as well go (or, the pedestrian would go just as the light would finally change to green). Never saw anyone get hurt but it seemed like it had the potential. Fortunately, there were EMTs just up the block."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. O'Rourke
Lindercles 0 #6 February 7, 2007 That's pretty useless here, people in Austin don't wait for signals anyway.

SOS is 3 short, 3 long, 3 shortSome people refrain from beating a dead horse. Personally, I find a myriad of entertainment value when beating it until it becomes a horse-smoothie.
