packing_jarrett 0 #2 December 10, 2006 Those are container sizes. W-2, like a wings container... is made for smaller canopies like sub 100. Wings uses numbers so the higher they are the bigger the canopy. Same with infinity and icon. Infinity I-32 is made for canopies around 135sq ft. Javelin is a little more complex with letters for example xrs/ rsk is one of the smallest but there's also a OJK made for 150's but there's also the J1 which is made for 150's. Its so confusing but if you go on individual manufactures they'll give you a better understanding.Na' Cho' Cheese
Beatnik 2 #3 December 10, 2006 Most Manufacturers have their own way to label a harness and container size. Depending on what type of canopy the 190 is as well will vary the packing size and which container it can fit into. An easy resource for the canopy pack volumes is from the PIA canopy volume chart:http://www.pia.com/piapubs/TSDocuments/ts104-13%20Canopy%20volume%20study_1995.pdf Or Jumpshacks volume charts: http://www.jumpshack.com/Read/Tech/canopy_volume_chart.htm Once you know what size it is, then you can start comparing what it should fit into. Here are a couple of manufacturer's sizing. Sunpath's sizing: http://www.sunpath.com/stock.htm Rigging Innovations: http://www.rigginginnovations.com/earlymodels.htm Relative Workshop: http://www.relativeworkshop.com/saldoc_sizing.html Jumpshack just uses the cubic inches for there reserve and main sizing. If you go onto the manufacturers webpage of the gear you're looking, most of the information will be there. There is a couple that don't have the information on there, but to find out all it takes is an email. Hope this helps.

DrewEckhardt 0 #5 December 12, 2006 QuoteTHANKS A LOT GUYS! one step closer to having my own! Note that required main lift web length depends on where your height is. Height in inches - 20 is a reasonable approximation. In my case I take 5'10 - 30.5" inseam - 20 = 19.5". Not coincidentally I have main lift webs in the 19-20" range which Javelin's simple sizing chart puts in the 6'2 to 6'3"+ range. Also note that most manufacturers keep records of the gear sold. If you provide them with the rig's serial number they can provide you with both harness and container size information.
