Installing Insulation

Any problem with just rolling it out over the old (blown in) crap???

2 issues: 1) the new insulation must be unfaced if you plan to install it over existing insulation, 2) it will tend to push down the existing insulation reducing the R-value

if the existing insulation is at or above the ceiling joists then install the new stuff across the joists, this will insulate better and reduce the compaction of the existing stuff

question - why not just use more blown insulation, its cheaper, a lot less work, quicker and just as good
Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws.

Also depends if the old stuff smells like mice piss or is damp or broken down. Your call.
