happythoughts 0 #1 February 11, 2007 ...til tomorrow what you can do today. We've all heard it. I am just unsure of its value or application. People say that if you put things off, you are procrastinating. Words like "progress" or "proactive" are viewed as positive. "Procrastination" is one of those "pro" words. Why did it get a bad rap? I wasn't planning on doing anything tomorrow, so I decided to not do it today. Just in case something came up and ruined my planned day of relaxing. I look at that as being "proactive". It seems to me that I am doing some careful planning and exercising forethought. Some people regard it as just being twice as lazy. (I just don't seem to win on these judgmental issues.) Sometimes, I forget that I wasn't going to do something and complete it. Then, I realize it later. I've done that before. It's a combination of procrastination, deja vu, and amnesia. I realize that previously I had forgot that I wasn't going to do that and there I'd done it again. (I was thinking about posting that in lower case without punctuation.) Do you think I am wrong here? Bolas 5 #4 February 11, 2007 Life in corporate america has taught me that all that matters is the present. No need to plan for the future. happythoughts 0 #12 February 12, 2007 QuoteYou write some funny stuff, but I wouldn't think about putting it into a book, until tomorrow, if I were you. No, just trying to sort some stuff out. When I decide to put it into a book, I'm going to quote you guys. That way, I have plausible deniability. I will probably use one of the general disclaimers, such as, "Oh Hell no, I'd never say that."
