True "Bionic Eye" Helps the Blind See

Recommended Posts

Yes, it's for real, and it's amazing.

No word yet on the infrared model which allow the user to see through clothing...:D:SB|

I'm thinking that "Blind John" Fleming might have a go at this once it's been improved. B|

But but.. surely this is messing with gods creation and unethical and blah-blah ? :)
Now, who needs dytter, when you can have an alarm directly on your bionic eye! Which also, as you said, can be switched to infrared to see through clothes.. or other nify features, such as display a GPS map.. .. well, you all probably have some good ideas.

Lets hope the software isn't made by microsoft though. Gives bluescreen a whole new meaning....

Sweet!

Does remind me of a memorable quote form one of my GF's housemates, as we were sitting round the kitchen table with a few drinks she comes out with "Hey, did you know that people with glass eyes can't actually see through them!" "Um, yes Haz - we all knew that":D

And they let these people into university:P
Do you want to have an ideagasm?

E-mail sent to John. I'm sure he's already very aware of it, but just in case....

Very interesting. Too bad my left eye's retina is already gone. Heck, the whole eye for that matter....Waiting for a "Lindsay Wagner" bionic eye for me now...:D

Hi Lori:

How did you lose your sight? I'm blind in my left eye from being hit with a broomstick when I was a little boy ... a detached retina.

Sure would be nice if this new bionic eye invention would correct that. I've always wondered what 3D movies look like. Also, I still have a problem flaring sometimes.

Blue skies, Dick

Horse kick.

Keep trying on getting your landings down. One thing that helped me was getting video and coaching from one of the best canopy pilots in the world. Happens to be a friend as well. J.C. B|

Oh, and yeah...I know what you mean about missing out on 3D movies. One of the few things that suck about having monovision.

I don't want you guys to take this the wrong way, I'm not making fun, but 3-D movies aren't that great. They really suck.:P You know how the pictures on the cereal box show a really cool prize inside? Then, when you eat all that shitty cereal and finally get the prize, it's nothing but a cheap piece of junk? Same thing with 3-D movies.

Not to burst your bubble, but I have experienced 3D movies before I lost my eye at age 24. They were great and I know what I am missing. :| That, and the 3D pictures that you all get to experience watery eyes over as you stare into them trying to see 'the picture'...:P

Post deleted. Please accept my apologies.

No problem. In fact, the very last 3D movie I saw (pre-age 24) was Michael Jackson's (Universal Studios or Disneyland?). I'm happy I don't have to experience that ever again...;)

I can see out of both eyes, not well in either, but I only ev ever focus out of one eye at a time so I dont have steeoscopic vision either, 3D movies, Magic Eye pictures escape me and somtimes flaring is a wee bit off :ph34r::ph34r:
My biggest fear under canopy is losing my specs, and blowing what little depth perseption I did have right out the window[:/]
You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky)
