kallend 2,184 #1 February 19, 2007 So I invested $1.98 in downloading music from Musicmatch, and now find that although I can burn the tracks to a CD, it won't play in my regular CD players (home or car) on account of the stupid DRM. Any suggestions?... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
snowslider 0 #2 February 19, 2007 did you try changing the format of the songs, instead of burning them to a disc as a WAV. file convert them to mp3 or mp4?
RBM 1 #3 February 19, 2007 google for FairUse4WM, its kinda hard to find due to M$ sending letters to every website that has it, threatning to sueing them if they dont remove it off their website,, but keep clicking, its out there, its gets outdated kinda quick due to the cat and mouse game,, good luck
bob.dino 1 #4 February 19, 2007 QuoteAny suggestions? Don't buy DRM-encumbered music? It's Defective By Design. Next time, purchase your music from eMusic.

At least it was only $1.98 and I can play them on my PCs. Thanks for the links... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one. murrays 0 #6 February 19, 2007 I recently started downloading music from eMusic and have to say I appreciate the higher bit rates they use and the low prices....30 songs a month for $14.99 (Canadian $$). I don't like the eMusic website as much as I like the iTunes store...which I credit for rekindling my interest in music over the last couple of years. I still download the occasional song from iTunes and have downloaded about 300 songs from there previously but I tend to buy the CD if I can buy it for a price that is not too much higher than the digital version. I like having the original so that I can rip it at whatever bit rate I want. It will be interesting to see what develops in the DRM area. Steve Jobs certainly stirred the pot with his recent "Thoughts on Music".-- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
